Our Teams & Players

Team London Futures

The London Futures Esports 4 Change team uses the esports programme to engage around 10 young people aged 18 – 25 with a learning disability through gaming, mentoring and career development through esports. The young people take part in weekly esports sessions where they follow a monthly themed game with a competition taking place in the last week of each month. The programme supports our young people to openly communicate in a more relaxed environment, promote teamwork, encourage one another, come up with tactical plans within each game and to have in game discussions.

This month, the themed game is Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown! Young people have been battling against each other in 1 on 1 martial arts combat, whereby each fight can be viewed by other members of the group. They are currently within their training phase, learning the ropes through peer to peer support and light competition in preparation for the finale tournament at the end of the month to see who will be crowed our Virtual Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown Champion!

Street Elite

The Street Elite esports programme engages a core group of around 10 young people aged 18 – 25 through gaming, using it as a platform for us to continue to mentor, develop and support our young people in a more relaxed environment.

The young people take part in weekly esports sessions where they follow a monthly themed game with a competition taking place in the last week of each month. During competitions, we can engage anywhere between 12 – 20 young people who compete in various games like FIFA to be crowned champion, with the winner receiving a prize for their accomplishment.

The programme supports our young people to openly communicate, promote teamwork, encourage one another, come up with tactical plans within each game and to have in game discussions. This month, the themed game is FIFA 21! Young people have been playing ‘Pro Clubs’ where they get the chance to create and control their own character on the same team as their peers, whereby good communication and team cohesion are essential for success as we compete online against different clubs around word!
