This month’s Champions of Change is our own Alex Bassan.
After 17 years at the charity, Bassie will be leaving us today to start the next chapter in his life. Bassie went from being a brilliant coach, trainer and development expert to being an equally brilliant business development leader and our ambassador network, events and challenges portfolio and extensive list of corporate partners are a legacy of his energy, ideas and ability to make things happen.
Our CEO Andy Sellins had the pleasure of working in over twenty countries with Bassie and jointly pitching to countless corporates and his departure will leave a large gap in Andy’s working life. Bassies high standards and ability to take a new idea and bring it to life will be a part of who we all are for many years to come.
Andys favourite memories of working with Bassie include working in a prisoner of war camp for Tamil child soldiers in Sri Lanka when he was only 18, developing the French VI rugby team in Perpignan last year and recently pitching to Ardian to support our work, knowing it would probably be the last time Andy and Bassie would be pitching together.
Bassie has helped and been an amazing driver for our success for years, to not only the charity, but to the staff as well. On top of that, he has been a great teacher and coach helping others learn and evolve as he has. It’s a sad time but also an exciting one for Bassie to which we say thank you and good luck!
