On Thursday last week The Change Foundation was chosen to be the supporting charity of the Lloyd’s Rugby 7’s at Richmond Athletic Ground, which gave us the opportunity to increase awareness of our work and to do some fundraising.
The event itself was an amazing day of nonstop rugby, with six pitches playing all day, with lots of food, drinks and people; it was the perfect day out for rugby fans!
Our day started with collecting donations from guests as they arrived, followed by selling raffle tickets with the potential to win some amazing prizes and in between this we were able to make people aware about us and our work, building up interest to our Visually Impaired Rugby demonstration that we were able to showcase on the main pitch!
We managed to raise £13,763.70 on this amazing day with an additional £6,590 pre-event donations, our staff had a fantastic day and we were very proud to be there to represent The Change Foundation and inform people about us and our work!
We want to give a huge thanks to Lloyd’s of London Rugby Club for picking us as the events charity, to Clare for organising such a brilliant event, and to Kenny for all his IT support allowing us to maximise donations and raffle ticket sales.
Additionally, we need to thank our own Ellen for making this amazing connection and planning it all, to Lara for taking over last minute to make sure it ran perfectly, also to the TCF team that came on the day to help us make it a successful day and to Dan for running the Visually Impaired Rugby demonstration!
