The 8th of March marked International Women’s Day, a day where we celebrate women’s social, economic, cultural, and political achievements. The theme for this year’s day is “Choose to Challenge” where women across the globe stood together in solidarity to call out gender bias and inequality to create a more inclusive world.
To celebrate the day, The Change Foundation hosted a virtual “Work your Warrior” event where we had a professional choreographer and yoga body positivity instructor deliver online zoom sessions for our supporters and young people. Both workshops were filled with positive, empowering messages that left all those who attended feeling stronger, confident, and rejuvenated. The sessions allowed some of our partners, TCF women and girls team, young people, and trustees to spend time together, learn new skills and celebrate the day in style through activities that challenge the mind and body to find your inner warrior.
Our Dance 4 Change programme uses dance therapy to help marginalised young women aged 16 – 25 suffering from poor mental health to also work their warrior and develop mechanisms to find their own rhythm of life. If you would like more information on our Dance 4 Change programme, contact Maddy Ford.
